Kenya’s Coffee Industry
The Coffee industry is a very crucial sector to the Kenyan economy. Coffee is a key export earner, being the fifth foreign exchange earner after tourism, tea, horticulture and remittances from Kenyans in the Diaspora.Coffee ensures the livelihood of more than 700,000 smallholder farmers representing 3.5M farm families organized into producer co-operatives and producing 60\% of the Kenyan coffee. The balance comes from the estates that are small, medium or large in size.
